_ Police have charged a Chickamauga, Ga. woman with possessing methamphetamine with the intent to sell it. According to an affidavit of complaint, police were patrolling on Aug. 22 and saw a Honda Accord run a stop sign at the intersection of Gleason Drive and Donaldson Road. When officers stopped the car on Darryl Lane and ran the registration, dispatchers told them that the registration was expired, the report states. Officers then made contact with the driver of the car who gave them an identification from her purse that the report states had a “large amount of currency in the outside pocket.” Police saw a green bag underneath the driver’s seat. The report states that as officers were speaking with the driver, later identified as Tiffany Dawn Jones, 34, of a Marble Top Road address, they smelled marijuana. A passenger told officers that he was in possession of a “roach,” which he handed over to authorities. The report states that police removed both people from the car and observed a large amount of cash sticking out of Jones’s bra. It was then determined that Jones had given police a fake ID upon being pulled over. The report states she was placed in custody for identity theft. Police searched the vehicle and found 87.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine in the green bag, along with 9.4 grams of marijuana, jeweler’s bags, a digital scale and two measuring spoons. The report states police seized the car and $1,433 in cash that was on Jones. She was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for Resale, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She is due in East Ridge Municipal Court on Sept. 1.

_ Police have charged a Chattanooga man with assault, after he allegedly punched a woman in the face near Spring Creek Garden Apartments. According to an affidavit of complaint, officers were dispatched to an assault in progress, Sunday, on Spring Creek Road. Police were told that a black male wearing a red T-shirt was “beating” a white female near the apartment complex. The report states that when officers arrived they saw a man, later identified as Anthony Dijuan Visher, 21, of a Central Drive address in Chattanooga, walking south on Spring Creek wearing a red T-Shirt. An officer asked Visher to stop and talk, but he refused and continued walking, the report states. When officers did stop the man, he became “belligerent,” and started yelling and screaming in the middle of an intersection, the report states. A witness told officers that Visher had punched his juvenile girlfriend in the face, knocking her to the ground. Police then placed Visher under arrest for Domestic Assualt. The report states that as he was being taken into custody, Visher struggled with officers trying to handcuff him. Visher then refused to sit in the police car and had to be pulled into the backseat by officers from the other side of the cruiser. Visher slammed his head against the cage in the back of the cruiser, the report states. He was taken to Parkridge East for medical clearance then transported to the Hamilton County Jail. Visher is charged with Domestic Assault, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct. He is due to appear in City Court on Sept. 1.

_ Police charged a Wildwood, Ga. man with stealing a car after getting a tip from the car lot who legitimately sold the car earlier. According to an affidavit of complaint, police were contacted by employees of Wright Motor Company last week and told that a vehicle that had been stolen from a customer my be in the 5300 block of Lazard Street. The report states that an officer spotted the 2009 Chrysler Sebring that was reported stolen out of Chattanooga on Aug. 16, in the driveway of a home on McBrien Road. When officers knocked on the door, the resident told them that the car belonged to some friends who arrived a few hours earlier and were staying there. The resident allowed police inside, the report states, and showed them to a bedroom where a man and a woman were on the bed. The report states that the man, later identified as Dustin Sexton, 21, of Creek Road address in Wildwood, immediately reached between the bed and the wall. Officers found the keys to the car where Sexton had put his hand upon officers entering the room. Officers checked out the car and found male and female clothing and personal items. Police charged Sexton with Theft over $10,000. He is due to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on Aug. 25.
