ERPD Investigating Shot Being Fired on John Ross

East Ridge officers responded to the 1200 block of John Ross Road Sunday evening on a person being shot, officials said.

Capt. Tim Mullinax said dispatchers radioed officers that a person had been shot at an address near John Ross and Coleman at about 7 p.m. Capt. Mullinax said that when officers arrived they spoke with more than a half-dozen people at a gathering in the back yard of the house, and a single shot had been fired in their direction.

Officials said nobody was injured in the incident. Police got statements from the people in the back yard of the residence and no one could give officers a good description of the suspect.

Police said that there had been no calls to police from the address in the recent past.
