1408 Mana Lane: Police were called to the address Saturday in reference to an assault. According to a police report, officer spoke with a man who said he was a victim of domestic vandalism. The man said his ex-girlfriend, Jessica L. Cruz, came to the apartment uninvited. He informed officers that there is a “no-contact” order issued by a judge barring any contact between himself and Cruz.
The report states that the man told police that he asked Cruz to leave which made her angry. According to the man, Cruz started striking his 1999 Isuzu Rodeo with a floor jack handle. According to the man, Cruz smashed several windows to the vehicle before he could disarm her. The man said in attempting to disarm Cruz he pushed her. This action prompted a neighbor to intercede on behalf of Cruz.
According to the report, believing that Cruz was in distress. the neighbor pushed the man away and punched him, The altercation between the two led to the assault call. While the men scuffled, Cruz left the area, the report states.
A witness saw some of the incident unfolding. The witness told officers that Cruz was the aggressor and that the owner of the car was simply trying to stop Cruz from further damaging his vehicle.
Warrants for Vandalism and Domestic Violence will be sought for Cruz, the report states.
_ 1021 Hurst St.: Police were called to the address Sunday in regard to theft of property. According to a police report, officers spoke with a man who explained that his car had been broken into overnight. The victim said that someone had taken his wallet from the car and $40 in change out of a cup inside the car. The victim said that he had $230 in cash inside the wallet and a credit card.
The report states that the victim had a video surveillance camera on his property. The video shows the back of a man wearing a hoodie, but nothing else.
The report states that the victim’s wallet – minus the cash and credit card – was recovered in the Belvoir Avenue area later on Sunday.
_ 6513 Ringgold Rd.: Police were dispatched to the Waffle House, Sunday, on a delayed theft. According to a police report, police spoke with the manager who told them that the store’s register was short $79.73 from the midnight shift.
The manager provided police with a list of employees working the shift. The manager told police that several employees had told her that Calomira Karras was asking multiple parties for money prior to the cash drawer coming up short. Police paid a visit to Karras’ residence on McDonald Road, where the woman denied taking the money from the cash register.
The report states that Karras was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Catoosa County and she was taken into custody. She was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana.
