406 Alice Dr.: Police were called to the address on Dec. 30 in reference to a domestic assault. According to a police report, an officer en route was advised by dispatch that the victim was texting her mother and sister, telling them to call police because a man was in her house and she was afraid he would” put hands on her.” Dispatch also told police that the victim had told her sister that that the man, later identified as Jay Devon Lacey-Young had hit her and stolen her phone. Dispatch also told police that the victim said that Lacey-Young had firearms inside the house.
According to the report, when officers arrived one of them looked through a window and saw Lacey-Young kneeling in the living room holding a phone in one hand and a black and silver pistol in the other. Officers then put out a call to get more available units on the scene. Another officer peeked inside the house and saw a young woman sitting on a couch in the living room with Lacey-Young standing in front of her and she appeared to be scared.
The report states that officers set up a perimeter around the house as Lacey-Young opened the front door. Officers gave commands for the man to come outside with his hands in the air, but the man stepped back inside and closed the door. Officers then saw what appeared to be Lacey-Young forcing the woman up stairs, where they remained for the remainder of the incident.
After several minutes dispatch advised officers on the scene that they (dispatch) had Lacey-Young on the phone. Dispatch then advised all officers on the scene that Lacey-Young and two people would be coming out of the house with their hands in the air. The trio came out of the house and officers detained all three subjects, the report states.
The woman gave officers consent to search the house. Officers asked Lacey-Young where the firearm was and he told them that it was in the attic. A Smith and Wesson SD40 pistol was found in the attic. The pistol was loaded with ammunition and had one round in the chamber.The report states that officers quickly determined that the pistol was reported stolen out of Chattanooga.
Lacey-Young was arrested and charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault, Possession of a Firearm During a Dangerous Felony, Aggravated Kidnapping, Theft of Property under $500 and Tampering with Evidence.
_ Officers were called to the Krystal restaurant at 6300 Ringgold Road on the morning of Dec. 30 on a “shots fired” call. According to a police report, an officer spoke with the shift manager of the restaurant and she told them that while she was taking an order at the drive-thru she saw a black man wearing an orange shirt pull a handgun from his waistband and fire two shots at a white man in the parking lot.
She went on to say that the man who fired the gun got into a tan-colored SUV with Georgia plates and drove off. The woman told police that she then went outside and discovered a bullet hole in the windshield of her car.
According to the report, police spoke with a man who called 911 in regard to the shooting. The witness told officers that he was placing his order when he noticed the man firing a gun. The witness was able to get a license plate number of the SUV in which the suspect fled. The plate came back to a red 1997 Ford Explorer registered to a man living in Walker County, Georgia, the report states.
Police spoke to the man who the suspect was firing at. He told them that he was hanging out with a woman and the shooter, who is known as “Darkness,” inside the Krystal. He asked the woman for a ride and when they got into the parking lot “Darkness” pulled a handgun and fired at him. The man told police that he then took off running and did not know where the suspect went.
The report states that officers found one spent .380 Hornady round in the parking lot. No injuries were reported.
