East Ridge police arrested a man on Christmas Eve after staff at the motel in which he was staying discovered possible narcotics in his rented room.
According to an affidavit of complaint, Christopher Paul Bell, 26, of a Chickamauga, Ga. address, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for Resale, Possession of a Weapon During a Felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Criminal Impersonation.
According to a report, police were called to the Comfort Inn early in the afternoon on Christmas Eve, after a housekeeper discovered suspected narcotics in Bell’s room. Police questioned two men who came out of the motel room. One of the men gave police a bogus name. When an officer performed a cursory search of the man for weapons, he discovered a knife in one of his pockets and a large amount of cash in another. Police then found a clear plastic bag containing a white, crystallized substance consistent with “ice” methamphetamine in the man’s jacket pocket.
The report states that the cash amounted to $2,906 and the methamphetamine weighed out at 5.62 ounces.
Bell was jailed on an $80,000 bond. He is due to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on Jan. 3.
_ 6831 1/2 Martha Ave.: Police were called to the address on Dec. 23 in reference to a possible overdose. According to a police report, when officers arrived they spoke with a woman who said that her female friend had been shooting up drugs in her neck and had passed out in the bathroom.
Police were greeted at the door by Roy Lamar Henderson Jr., who was “very agitated,” according to the report. Henderson told police that his brother had taken the woman who had been shooting up drugs to the hospital. The report states that police did not find anyone in the house who was unconscious, but located more than six syringes and a spoon filled with a semi-dissolved narcotic.
Henderson’s brother was found walking down the street and had not taken the unconscious woman to the hospital as police were told. The brother told police that after the woman had passed out, Henderson had punched him in the mouth and struck him with a chair. The report states that the brother had a swollen and bloody lip. When Henderson was asked about the incident, he denied punching his brother.
The woman suffering from a potential overdose was discovered outside on a trampoline. She was “somewhat disoriented,” according to the report, and denied transport to the hospital. The woman, Kori Lynea Konrad, 24, was charged with Possession of Schedule II Drugs and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Henderson, 27, was charged with Domestic Assault and jailed on a $100,000 bond. In December 2015, Henderson was charged by Soddy-Daisy police with Criminal Homicide in the beating death of 51-year-old Tony Rector, whose body was discovered dumped in a cemetery.
Henderson is due to appear in municipal court on Jan. 10.
_ Police were called to Parkridge East hospital early Tuesday morning in regard to a delayed assault.
According to an affidavit of complaint, when police arrived nursing staff told officers that a woman had suffered a severely broken wrist that would require surgery to repair. When police spoke with the woman, she told them that she was at home on Louise Avenue with her husband, Walter Prince, when she suggested to him that they should invite Prince’s daughters over for a visit.
The woman said that Prince’s response was “don’t talk about my children,” and then proceeded to grab her arm and told her “you know I can snap your wrist, don’t you?” The report states that Prince then twisted the woman’s wrist until it snapped.
Police went to 4402 Louise Avenue to speak with Prince. The report states that Prince told officers he knew nothing about his wife’s wrist. He was arrested, charged with Aggravated Assault and taken to the Hamilton County Jail. Prince is due in court on Jan. 10.
