Hixson Edges East Ridge for District Title

Hixson’s Morgan Dupree scored in the 65th minute to lift the Lady ‘Cats past East Ridge, 1-0, in the District 6 A/AA Girls’ Soccer Tournament finals.

The winning goal was off a free kick from about 25 yards out, said East Ridge coach Jeremy McIntyre.

East Ridge will travel to Boyd-Buchanan on Tuesday to play in the Region 3 A/AA Tournament. Hixson will host CSAS.

Notes: The Lady Pioneers’ Serena Smith was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. Smith, Emily Spiers, Katie Schaffer and Sarah Hudgens were named to the All-Tournament Team.
