Catholic moved to 7-0 on the season with a 44-8 win over Dayton City, this week in middle-school football.
With the win Catholic kept its winning streak alive. The Rams have now reeled off 24 straight wins. Next up for Catholic is Sale Creek in the “Choo-Choo Bowl.” The game is this Saturday, September 24 at OLPH field. Kick-off is at 12pm.
Once again, the Rams offensive line led the way. Landon Cooling, Maverick Tucker, Ben Bambrey and Boston Eberly each recorded multiple pancake blocks.
Alex Osborne scored two touchdowns, as did Eric Lindsey. Also getting in on the scoring action was Charlie Menham, Andy McGann, River Stump, and Christian Robinson.
Quarterback C.J. Petrin completed 6 passes, including a two-point conversion to Tucker Berry.
The Catholic defense was again impressive. Both Bennett Brinson and Lindsey had an interception. Tucker, Berry, Eberly and Stump had multiple tackles for loss.
Following the contest, Coach Billy Dearing said that he is proud of the effort the team has been giving all season.
“This is a very hard-working group,” he said. “They have put in a tremendous amount of work since last Spring. We preach that it is effort that matters most – – no question this group gets it.”
