A man who was on the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department’s “12 Most Wanted” list has been arrested in East Ridge.
Antonio Lamar Collier, 38, was taken into custody by East Ridge officers last week after a woman came to ERPD’s Service Center and claimed she was assaulted by Collier in her Bennett Road home.
According to a police report, the woman told officers that she met Collier the first week of July through an internet dating site called “Plenty of Fish.” The woman said that she took Collier back to her house where they “hung out” and had sex.
The report states that the woman told officers that Collier told her his name was “Tony Southers,” but she became suspicious of the man. The woman said she did her own investigation of “Tony Southers” and determined that he was actually Collier and on the “12 Most Wanted” list.
The report states that once the woman determined Collier’s true identity, he refused to leave her house and threatened to kill her if she went to the police. The woman, the report states, was scared to make a move and tried to leave the house on July 7 but was stopped by Collier, who allegedly grabbed her by the throat, strangled her and then threw her down on the ground. The report states that officers observed the woman was bruised and had a swollen lip.
According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, Collier was on the “12 Most Wanted List” as a result of being wanted for two counts of Domestic Assault, Burglary and violating probation on three domestic assault charges.
The report states that East Ridge authorities will seek a warrant for his arrest on an Aggravated Domestic Assault charge in regard to his actions with the local woman.
Collier is currently being held in the Hamilton County Jail without bond. He is due to appear in Hamilton County General Sessions Court on Thursday.
