Pioneers Complete Perfect District Season

The East Ridge boys’ soccer team completed a perfect District 6 A/AA regular season with a 7-1 win over Tyner, Thursday at Camp Jordan.

The win clinched the regular season district title and allowed the Pioneers to finish the season with an 8-1 overall record and 7-0 in the district.

Alejandro Vicente and Adam Adem each had two goals for the Pioneers. Hunter Schobert, Joel Matias and Rivaldo Yoc Bamaca rounded out the scoring for East Ridge. Erik Lopez, Jarwin Vasquez, Antonio Novo Smith, Schobert and Vicente were credited with assists.

East Ridge had 21 shots to Tyner’s 10.

Emmanuel Blaise scored the only goal for the Rams.

The win insured East Ridge of a top seed in the upcoming district tournament. The Pioneers will be on the road April 28 to face Signal Mountain in a non-district contest.

He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
