On Thursday, personnel with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, working in collaboration with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Warrants Unit, took Travien Cenar Reddick into custody for Second Degree Murder charges. Reddick was arrested in connection with a homicide that took place on October 28, 2020, at 8500 Standifer Gap Road.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Services Detectives determined that Antoine Allen, the victim, had conspired with Reddick and another unknown individual to rob narcotics dealer, Travist Patrick, at gunpoint. During the attempted robbery, Patrick acted in self-defense, resulting in Allen’s death. This complex case, which involved ties to a violent street gang from West Tennessee, presented significant challenges to this lengthy investigation.
“Despite the challenges of this complex investigation, our detectives diligently pursued each lead and worked with our partners in the Tennessee Highway Patrol to successfully locate Reddick in Nashville, bring him safely into custody, and return him back to Hamilton County,” said Sheriff Austin Garrett. “This arrest is a textbook example of how collaborative law enforcement partnerships should operate to ensure the safety of the public.”
Throughout this investigation, HCSO detectives secured critical evidence, followed up on investigatory leads, and ultimately brought this case to a resolution by charging Reddick for his involvement in the armed robbery and violent home invasion. The work of our Investigative Services, including our Criminal Warrants Unit, exemplifies the commitment of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office to ensuring justice and public safety.
We would like to offer our appreciation to the community for their patience and support throughout this process. We also want to thank the Tennessee Highway Patrol for their assistance in taking this dangerous suspect into custody. The efforts of our dedicated team reaffirm our mission to serve and protect, regardless of the time or resources required.
