Day Shift April 10
24-004511 – 5300 BLK Spriggs Street – Attempted Auto Theft – The resident stated he observed the passenger side rear glass was smashed and the steering column busted on his KIA in an apparent attempt to steal the vehicle. He stated this occurred sometime between 0230 hours and 1339 hours on this date.
No Case Number – 1000 BLK John Ross Road – Event – Officers visited East Ridge Elementary School for Career Day and gave students a brief presentation on police work.
24-004526- 3700 BLK Fountain Avenue- Disorder- Police responded to a disorder between a resident and management. The disorder was found to be verbal only, but the resident was found to have a warrant out of Catoosa County. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
Night Shift April 10
24-004533 – 900 BLK Belvoir Avenue – Suspicious Activity – TN Department of Corrections requested ERPD after they found four deceased dogs in the freezer of their parolee’s residence. He stated that his animals died of natural causes and the veterinarian advised him to place them there while they looked for a place to cremate the animals. ERAS responded and advised that this was a standard procedure and did not see any signs of animal abuse.
24-004266 – 4222 Ringgold Road – Warrant Service – A man and woman were both taken into custody for East Ridge arrest warrants for Shoplifting. The individuals were transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
24-004555 – 900 BLK South Seminole Drive– Assist Fire – The East Ridge Fire Department responded to a smoke alarm activation in an apartment. On scene, the resident of the apartment would not allow firefighters to access his residence. Due to the exigency of the circumstances, Police entered the dwelling and spoke with him while firefighters assessed the situation. The alarm was reset and may have been activated by tobacco vape smoke.
24-004535 – 1400 BLK Reeves Avenue – Theft – The caller stated that a white SUV pulled into the driveway and an unknown female exited the passenger side of the vehicle and took a “Hello Fresh” package worth about $100 off the front porch. She stated that she did not wish to press charges. The resident wanted to make police aware of the situation. The vehicle was an early 2000 Chevrolet Blazer with a handicap placard hanging from the mirror.
