Juvenile Dies from Gunshot Wound

East Ridge police are investigating the Tuesday shooting death of a juvenile on Connell Street.

According to a press release from the department, officers were dispatched to Connell on a person shot call. When they arrived they found a juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Officer began administering first-aid prior to the victim being transported to a hospital.

The press release states that the juvenile succumbed to the injury and was pronounced dead.

Chief Clint Uselton said in the press release that there are no indications that this incident poses a threat to members of the community.

No further information was available on Tuesday evening, as it is early in the investigation.
