Day Shift September 1

23-011113- 4300 BLK Bennett Road- Aggravated Assault- The caller advised a child assaulted several people in a classroom with pepper spray. Officers spoke with all involved and their guardians. Juvenile attachments will be sought.

Night Shift September 1

23-011128 – 1000 BLK Bass Pro – Theft – Police responded to this location regarding a female stealing at the store. Police conducted a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle and contacted the woman. The business did wish to prosecute. She was issued a misdemeanor citation for Theft of property/Shoplifting.

23-011147—4214 Ringgold Rd—Warrant Service – Chattanooga PD was out with a party earlier this evening at Brainerd Rd & N Moore Rd and asked for East Ridge PD to verify any warrants. The man had an active warrant for Alias Capias (Driving on Revoked) and was transported to jail without further incident.

Day Shift September 2

23-011163- 700 BLK Pyron Lane- Suspicious Vehicle- The caller advised of a suspicious white Ford Focus occupied by a male. The male was observed knocking on doors in the neighborhood. Officers checked the area, but the vehicle was not located.

Night Shift September 2

23-011168 – 3900 BLK Weldon Drive – Disorder Domestic-Arrest – A man was arrested for public intoxication after arguing with his wife and running out of the house while intoxicated. He was in a neighbor’s yard hiding in some bushes.

23-011173 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Theft – Police responded to a theft that occurred at the convenience store. Two suspects stole a 12 pack of Twisted Iced Tea. A tall heavyset male distracted the clerk at the register with an expired lottery ticket, while a tall male walked out of the store with the alcoholic beverages. The store clerk noticed the theft and chased after the suspects who escaped in a gray/blue late model chevy extended cab pickup truck. The store clerk broke the front passenger side door handle off the truck and observed a missing passenger mirror. The truck fled south on Spring Creek Rd towards Ringgold Rd.

23-011197 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Park and Walk – Police conducted a park and walk after observing a male subject park his vehicle in the rear of the business and walk east on Ringgold Road upon seeing officers. Following a probable cause search of his vehicle, the man was taken into custody for being in possession of approximately 8.7 grams of meth along with drug paraphernalia.

Day Shift September 3

23-011201- 900 BLK Spring Creek RD- Missing Person- The caller advised her brother-in-law has dementia and was missing. Police contacted the reporting party who advised her brother-in-law was last seen on August 17, 2023, at 941 Spring Creek Road. Police contacted the hospital and verified his last known location. He was released from the hospital on August 17, 2023, and given a cab voucher to take him to his address. Police contacted the cab company and they stated they did not have call logs and could not identify where he was taken. Police contacted the Chattanooga Homeless Shelter, and they had no record of him having been there. Police entered him into NCIC as missing.

23-011202- 700 BLK Germantown Circle- Found Property- The caller advised she located a handgun under a bush on the property. On scene officers checked the handgun. It was determined to be a child’s toy. It was disposed of at the scene.

23-011204- 700 BLK Belvoir Avenue- Theft- The caller advised a package was stolen from her porch. Police spoke with the victim who advised her doorbell camera caught an unknown female with red hair and a tattoo on her left leg stepping onto her porch and taking her package. She emailed the video to the police.

23-011207- 1000 BLK Bass Pro Drive- Delayed Shoplifting- Loss Prevention reported an unknown male entered the store on 9-2 and removed a SOG folding knife from the package, placed it in his pocket, then proceeded to the Sunglass Hut display. There he removed Oakley sunglasses from the shelf and placed them in a pocket. The unknown male departed the store without paying for the merchandise. He entered a black Honda CRV and left the property.

23-011214- 400 BLK Alice Drive- Theft- The caller advised someone took a package from his porch. The RP advised his package from Amazon was marked as delivered but he had not received it. He believed his neighbor had taken the package but was unable to provide any proof as there are no cameras in the area. Officers observed the next-door residence to appear empty with a locked key box secured to the front door, consistent with an empty residence.

Night Shift September 3

23-010670 – Hwy 58/Bonnie Oaks Drive – Warrant Service – Following a traffic stop on Bonnie Oaks Drive conducted by another agency, police arrested a woman on East Ridge warrants for Possession Schedule II Narcotics and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia charges. She was transported to Hamilton County Jail without further incident.

23-011223 – 1100 BLK Edwin Lane – Theft from vehicle – Police responded to this location after the homeowner noticed his vehicle had been broken into and his work laptop was missing. Report is on file for the incident.

23-011230 – 1000 BLK McHann Drive – Suspicious Activity – The complainant reported suspicious activity at the neighbor’s house across the street stating multiple different vehicles frequenting the residence over the past 48 hours. Police spoke with the neighbors who stated a recent death in the family has caused grieving friends and family to visit. Police relayed information to the neighbor without further incident.

23-011233 – Marietta Street & S Smith Street – Suspicious Activity – Officers were notified of multiple individuals on bicycles riding through the area with flashlights, possibly checking door handles on vehicles. Upon checking the area officers were unable to locate the individuals.

23-011237 – 1400 BLK St Thomas Street – Assault EMS Needed – Police responded after a female party reported to have been assaulted inside of one of the rooms. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim who stated a man she knew forcibly entered the hotel room and repeatedly struck her. Prior to leaving he threw the victim’s phone to the ground intentionally smashing it. Visible injuries were observed by officers on scene from the assault. Warrants for assault, false imprisonment, vandalism, and aggravated burglary are being sought.

23-011239 – 1500 BLK Burns Avenue – Miscellaneous Complaint – Police responded to this location after the RP had received phone calls from the following number (redacted). The RP stated the number supposedly led to a Chattanooga PD number. Police advised the RP on how to handle potential scam phone calls in the future. Nothing Further.

Day Shift September 4

23-011256- 5900 BLK Ringgold Road- Arrest- Police responded to the public storage for a party breaking into a vehicle. The caller reported an unknown male, approximately 5’9, with brown hair, a black shirt, and khaki shorts entered her vehicle. Approximately an hour later, police observed a subject matching the description walking east on Ringgold Road. Police contacted the subject. Police asked the subject if he was at public storage and if he got into a vehicle. He admitted to doing so. The party was later identified under his actual name. He admitted to lying due to having a warrant out of Georgia. He also admitted to being in possession of methamphetamine. Police found 23 grams of suspected meth, pipes, a scale, and a grinder. As police were preparing to transport him from the East Ridge Police Department to the Hamilton County Jail, he slipped his cuffs to the front of his body. As officers were attempting to secure his hands behind his back, the man became combative and attempted to run out of the police department. He struck an officer in the face and resisted police multiple times. The man was charged with burglary, possession of meth, criminal impersonation, public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, escape, assault on police, and resisting.

23-011252 – 5300 BLK Ringgold Road – Assist Fire – Police responded with Fire personnel on a large dumpster fire. Officers stood by while Firefighters extinguished the blaze.

230011255 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Mental Health Consumer – Officers received reports of a female attempting to jump from the overpass into traffic on I-24. Police located the woman who was having a mental health crisis. Officers successfully engaged her in conversation, diffusing the situation. She was transported for an evaluation.

23-011258 – 1600 BLK S. Seminole Drive – Auto Theft – Officers contacted the victim who stated her camper had been stolen from her property. Due to her not being able to provide any type of information on the camper, police could not place the camper into NCIC.

23-011269 – 600 BLK Bacon Trail– Harassment – Police contacted a woman who stated a man came to her residence and was harassing her. He was banging on windows and the front door. She stated she opened the door to tell him to leave when he slammed the door into her face. Police verified she had blood coming from her nose. Officers advised her to get a TPO from Hamilton County Court House and to call police if he came back.

23-011250 – 6500 BLK RINGGOLD RD – ARREST – Police were dispatched to a disorder. When officers arrived, the two parties immediately became verbally hostile towards officers. One received a misdemeanor citation in lieu of arrest for Disorderly Conduct. The other was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and resisting stop, halt, frisk.

Night Shift September 4

23-011291 – 3400 BLK Shadowlawn Drive – Unconscious Person – Officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Shadowlawn Dr. for an unconscious person. On scene, officers observed a man on the lawn, unconscious but breathing. Officers awoke him and observed bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and the odor of alcohol on his breath. Officers attempted to assist him up but were met with physical resistance. He was transported for medical clearance and on to jail without further incident. He was charged with Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest.

23-011279 – 6000 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft – Police responded to a theft that a female driving a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee entered the store and paid for one bottle of Hennessey even though she grabbed two. At the counter she informed them that she had brought one in to compare. She paid using a credit card but left the scene toward Spring Creek Road. The woman also has non extraditable warrants out of GA for DUI. Police will be attempting to make contact at her address tomorrow to issue a misdemeanor citation.

23-011289 -6700 Ringgold Road – Domestic Disorder – Police a woman in her wheelchair outside the front entrance to the store. She stated she wanted to make a report of a domestic assault that occurred the night before at an area hotel. She stated her husband had hit her and she had a black eye. Police had spoken with the male earlier in the day where he had obvious signs of an assault that he stated occurred in Georgia. He did not want any charges taken at that time. Police completed a report on the incident.

23-011277 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Assault – A woman was arrested for Assault on a First Responder after she bit and scratched a Physician Assistant. She was taken into custody and transported without further incident to the Hamilton County Jail.

23-011292 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Assist Citizen – A woman approached police and requested assistance with a medical issue. Police and the Hamilton County 911 Center initially thought that she had several active warrants through Sessions Court. Upon further investigation, it was found the warrants were for her sister who had used her identification in the past. She was taken to a medical facility and admitted as a patient.
