Day Shift August 9
23-010034- 1200 BLK Laurelwood Dr- Fraud- The victim stated that on August 8, at about 1530 hours she opened her laptop and saw a message stating her computer was locked because her computer had been “hacked.” The message gave her a phone number to call. Upon calling the number on the screen she spoke to a female allegedly with Microsoft that provided the name of “Stella Williams” with an ID number of MS35789. The female then provided her with another number of that she was told was a secure line. Upon speaking with an individual on the “secure line” she was given a number to call to speak with an alleged representative of her banking institution. While speaking with the supposed representative she was given IP address of the hackers. She was then instructed to go to her bank branch and withdrawal $1,000. She was then to deposit the money at a bitcoin ATM located inside a convenience store in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. On today’s date she realized she had been scammed and contacted law enforcement. She was also instructed by police to file a report through IC3.
Night Shift August 9
No Number Assigned – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Suspicious Person/AOA – Police responded after security called police regarding a male subject who arrived to the emergency room with severe bodily injuries and told medical staff he was assaulted. The incident was found to have occurred in Catoosa County, Georgia. The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the incident and responded.
23-010046 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Person(s) – Police responded where the cashier reported two homeless parties were staying nearby for the past three days. Police spoke with both homeless parties, and they agreed to leave the vicinity without incident.
23-010052 – 3300 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft – Police responded to this location after two parties attempted to use fake money to pay for merchandise. Upon observing the money to be fake the suspects ran out of the store with the merchandise and left in a vehicle towards the East Ridge Tunnels.
23-010056 – 300 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Animal Call-Bite – Police responded to a victim of a dog bite at 363 Camp Jordan Rd which occurred at Camp Jordan between the fishing pond and the baseball fields at approximately 1645 hours. The caller stated he was on foot walking his bicycle when an unknown older male lost control of his brown pit bull on a red leash and then the dog lunged and bit him in the stomach. Police observed the wounds, and they were consistent with a dog bite. He stated that the dog owner, named “Bill”, dressed his wounds with a bandage and apologized before leaving the scene with his dog and an unknown female in a black SUV.
23-010073 – 18280 Interstate 24 West Bound – Accident-Property Damage – Police responded to this location for a hit and run wreck on I-24 westbound. The truck driver requested a police report for the company. The tractor trailer was able to be driven away without further issue.
23-010074 – 1100 BLK Spring Creek Road – Traffic Stop – Arrest – Following a traffic stop, police arrested a man for driving under the influence. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail. He also received a traffic citation for driving without a valid License, financial responsibility, and suspended registration.
23-010076 – 5300 BLK Greenbriar Road – Domestic Disorder – Police responded to this location due to the RP stating having heard yelling from some neighbors. Police spoke with two parties about the call, and they both stated it was an argument over their dogs. Both parties stated they would stop arguing and police would not have to come back to their location. Nothing further.
