Day Shift June 26
23-005753- 4214 US41-Warrant Service- A man was arrested on multiple East Ridge outstanding warrants.
23-007937-4900 BLK Court Dr.- Burglary/Theft of Auto- The caller reported an unknown suspect entered an unlocked door of the church and took a set of keys to their church van. He stated the unknown suspect then stole the church van.
23-007941 – 6600 BLK State Line Rd – Check-the-well-being/Assist Codes Enforcement – Police responded to this residence to check the well-being of party after Codes Enforcement received reports of living conditions issues. Codes determined the residence to be severely unkept and will plan for the resident to make repairs. A report was made with Adult Protective Services; however, due to their new policies regarding issues of self-neglect, the investigation would go no further.
23-007944- 1400 BLK Altamaha Street- Attempted Burglary/ Vandalism- The manager reported someone had thrown a brick at the store window over the weekend attempting to gain access. The window was scratched from the brick but did not break. The business does have video surveillance footage and charges will be sought once positive identification is made.
Night Shift June 26
23-007965 – 1500 BLK Truman Avenue – DUI / Arrest – Following a traffic stop for improperly displayed registration plates, a female was taken into custody for Driving under the influence.
23-007971 – 3400 BLK Lisa Drive – Hit & Run – Police responded to this location following multiple calls regarding an SUV that had struck a fire hydrant. Police arrived on scene to find a fire hydrant that was ejecting water approximately twenty feet into the air sending rocks and other debris flying into nearby vehicles. Five vehicles were damaged because of the collision. It is unknown currently who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident due to the driver fleeing on foot prior to police arrival.
23-007963 – 300 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Police conducted a traffic stop on a red Dodge Caliber for no tag displayed. The driver was in possession of a glass methamphetamine pipe and given a Misdemeanor citation in lieu of arrest.
23-007961 – 1400 BLK St. Thomas Street – Auto Theft – On June 2, 2023, a black 2015 Jeep Wrangler bearing Illinois registration CE25599 was taken from the motel. The reporting party stated that a male drove the vehicle from the motel 6 without his permission. Police contacted NCIC and reported the vehicle as stolen.
23-007969 – 6600 BLK Ringgold Road – SIA / Arrest – Police noticed a male walking through the parking lot and recognized him as having warrants for his arrest. The warrants were confirmed, and police transported the male to the Hamilton County Jail with no issues.
23-007967 -600 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Theft / Possession of Stolen Vehicle – Police observed a suspicious white van parked behind the Hampton Inn. The vehicle registration was checked, and the van was found to be reported stolen from the church earlier in the day. Police found a man sleeping in the driver’s seat. The suspect was arrested and charged with Theft (Possession of Stolen Vehicle). The owner of the van responded to the location and recovered the vehicle.
23-007970 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Road – Unconscious Driver/ Arrest – Police observed a driver asleep at the wheel. Upon contact with the driver, he did not have a room there and was coming from another area motel. After seeing a container in the vehicle and asking, the driver stated it was “dirt.” He opened the container and dumped out the contents on the ground after being told not to. It contained a white powdery substance. He was also found in possession of a digital scale. He was charged with tampering with evidence and drug paraphernalia.
23-007972 – 700 BLK Summit Avenue – Assault – Police responded to a party who was assaulted by his neighbor. The victim stated they have had arguments previously, but it escalated today, and his neighbor approached and pushed him into his vehicle leaving injuries to his back and neck. The neighbor stated that it was a mutual combat situation. Due to the injuries to the victim, the neighbor was issued a misdemeanor citation in lieu of arrest for assault.
