The City of East Ridge and the East Ridge Council of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce are partnering to host the first ever East Ridge Clean Up Day. Scheduled for Saturday, June 24 from 7 am to 12:30 pm, Clean Up Day will involve East Ridge city staff, chamber members, and volunteers working together to clean up trash and litter, remove bulk rubbish, complete minor lawn maintenance repairs, and remove trash and debris from local watersheds in the city.
To assure that Clean Up Day is a success, the City of East Ridge and the East Ridge Chamber are now searching for community members, citizens, and local business owners that would like to become a volunteer. On Thursday, May 4, interested individuals can begin signing up through the link to the volunteer registration form: https://forms.gle/ufZaAmtgDHqh8Fb59 . Registration will end on Friday, June 2, to give the staff adequate time to assign all volunteers to specific zones before Clean Up Day begins.
“The City of East Ridge is thrilled to partner with the East Ridge Chamber of Commerce to host this event,” said Cameron McAllister, Administrator of East Ridge Economic and Community Development. “We are looking forward to connecting with citizens and volunteers while making a difference in our community. In East Ridge, we take pride in being known as a small city with a big heart and strive to give back to those in need.”
Check-in on Clean Up Day will begin at 7 am at East Ridge Community Center located at 1515 Tombras Avenue. Volunteers will be provided t-shirts at check-in with the clean-up work beginning at 8 am in specified zones. At 12:30 pm, all volunteers will be served lunch at East Ridge Community Center.
Deanne Dawes with Buddy’s Bar-B-Q and the East Ridge Council for the Chattanooga Chamber said, “Buddy’s Bar-B-Q is honored to volunteer and support East Ridge Clean Up Day. Our community is stronger when we work together and support each other. That’s why we love being a part of the East Ridge Community and being involved with the Chattanooga Chamber.”
