Day Shift January 3, 2023
23-000098- 4214 Ringgold Road- Disorder/Arrest- While at the police department officers witnessed a male putting his fist in the face of a female. Upon separating the parties and placing the aggressive male into cuffs police determined the male was Joshua Coffman, the son of the woman. When police spoke with her she was visibly upset and stated she felt very threated. Police took Coffman into custody for domestic assault. While in transport Coffman positioned himself in the back of the police car and attempted to break a rear window of the police vehicle with his knee. Coffman will also be charged with vandalism and resisting arrest.
23-0000103- 4300 BLK Ringgold Road- Theft- The caller advised a man reached in her vehicle and took her wallet. On scene police met with the complainant. She advised she had her wallet taken out of her lap while she was in her vehicle. She stated a man approached her from the passenger side where she was and asked if she had a card that he could have. She felt confused by the question and immediately the unknown suspect snatched her wallet out of her lap. The unknown suspect then ran west bound toward Ringgold Road. She advised her husband got out of the vehicle and started to pursue the unknown suspect by foot. She advised they lost sight of the suspect on 14th Avenue in Chattanooga. Police went in the Regions Bank to see if any video footage was available and spoke with security. A meeting was scheduled for a later date to review video evidence of the reported theft.
Night Shift January 3-4, 2023
23-000119- 4100 BLK Ringgold Road- Theft of Property- The reporting party called to report a theft. Her friend had allegedly agreed to bring her belongings she left at his home to Walmart. After an argument the friend advised her he would not be giving the items back and then drove away. Warrants are being sought.
23-000126- 800 S Germantown Road- Traffic Stop/Drugs- An occupant of the vehicle was found to be in possession of a user amount of marijuana during a traffic stop at this location. He was cited and released.
23-000130 – 4200 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Person- Police located a vehicle in the parking lot unoccupied with an open door. Police were later able to locate the driver of the vehicle who told police he fled on foot from men who were chasing him. The driver of the vehicle told police he had previously had similar experiences that had proven to be false.
