Animal Services has New Contact Telephone Number
UPDATE: On Thursday, January 26th, East Ridge Animal Services will begin accepting calls at 423-633-7774.
East Ridge Animal Services, including East Ridge Animal Shelter, will be open Monday-Friday from 10am to 5pm and the first and third Saturday of every month from 10am to 2pm. ERAS will no longer be receiving calls or returning voicemails from 423-664-0271.

Starting Wednesday, February 1, 2023, East Ridge Animal Services will begin operating under their updated business hours.
East Ridge Animal Shelter will be open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and the first and third Saturday of every month from 10 am to 2 pm. The Shelter is closed on Sundays and holidays.
Routine animal problems, such as stray dogs in a neighborhood or a dog running at large, are addressed by certified Animal Control Officers. Animal-related emergencies, such as dog attacks or injured animals, are handled 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Routine complaints reported after hours or on weekends will be handled the next business day. If you are reporting an animal related emergency and there is no answer at the shelter, please call East Ridge dispatch at (423) 622-1725.
The City of East Ridge Animal Services Division (ERAS) is a full spectrum, State certified animal control services agency. Some of the services provided by ERAS include investigating reports of animal abuse and neglect, bringing to prosecution cases of animal cruelty, capturing vicious animals, impounding stray dogs, and providing after-hours response for animal-related emergencies.
In addition to providing field services, ERAS operates the City of East Ridge Animal Shelter. The shelter is maintained for the purpose of providing safe and humane housing for stray, abused, and neglected companion animals.
