The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports.”
Aug. 25 Day Shift
21-012229- 1410 Mack Smith Road (Budgetel)- Deceptive Practice-
Police spoke with the front desk clerk at the motel. She advised she received a phone call from an unknown phone number from WhatsApp and talked to an unknown male party who claimed to be the owner of the motel. The person persuaded her to empty the cash drawer and take $279 to an area bitcoin ATM to buy bitcoin. The employee deposited the cash into the bitcoin ATM before eventually becoming suspicious of the situation. She spoke with her manager who advised her that she was possibly being scammed. She stated she did not exchange information with the unknown caller and the cash is still in her bitcoin account. At this time, no theft has occurred, and she is currently in contact with bitcoin attempting to remedy the situation with the help of the manager.
21-012231- 4024 A Woodmont Drive- Suspicious Vehicle-
The caller advised of a black truck parked in the roadway causing a traffic hazard. Once on scene the vehicle was found to belong to law enforcement operating in the area.
21-012232- 6710 Ringgold Road (Best Western)- Vehicle Burglary-
Police spoke with the complainant who advised his front passenger window was broken out sometime overnight. He advised the front seat was rummaged through, but nothing was taken.
21-012234- 1453 Mack Smith Road (Fairfield Inn)- Vehicle Burglary-
Police spoke with the victim. He advised sometime between 2230 hours on 8/24/21 and 0918 hours on today’s date an unknown suspect busted the left rear window of his 2018 black Jeep Grand Cherokee and took property. The victim told police the only item that appeared to have been taken from the vehicle was a pouch of nail clippers and nail files that was in the center console worth approximately $10. The vehicle was parked in a blind spot with no surveillance footage coverage.
21-012237- 3100 blk of Ringgold Road (Tunnels)- Citizen Assist-
The caller advised an RV was stuck at the tunnel and could not turn around due to heavy traffic. Police were able to briefly stop traffic so the RV could be turned around.
21-012239- 5418 Ringgold Road (Apollo Car Wash)- Unconscious Person-
The caller advised of an unconscious elderly male in a wheelchair. Once on scene police located the man. He advised he was sleeping. The man was checked for warrants and sent on his way.

21-012249 1512 Mcbrien Road / Found Property:
Police responded to this location in order for church employees to turn over a wallet that was found in the bushes. Wallet placed into property and evidence—report on file.
21-012268 4214 Ringgold Road / Warrant Service:
Charles Daugherty was arrested for an active warrant through East Ridge City Court for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
21-012260- Traffic Stop/warrant:
Police conducted a traffic stop in the 6300 block of Ringgold Road after observing the vehicle leaving the Budgetel. Police met with the driver, identified as Elijah Williams. Williams was driving without a license and failed to have insurance on the vehicle. He also had active warrants out of Bradley County. Williams was transported to the jail, however, Bradley County did not send the warrants to Silverdale. Police gave Williams a courtesy ride to Chattanooga, and citations were issued for the traffic violations.
