According to the East Ridge Police Department, a Bi-Lo on Ringgold Road was robbed Sunday night.
According to a press release, On Sunday, September 6, 2015, at about 10:55 pm, two black males entered the BiLo at 3715 Ringgold Road, East Ridge, TN. One black male vaulted the service counter demanding money from the employee. The second male, also black, remained by the front doors.
The suspects exited the store with an undisclosed amount of money. There were no injuries to the employees.
According to a police report obtained by East Ridge News Online on Wednesday, the first suspect is described as 6-feet, 1 inches tall, weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored, hooded jacket with baggy, dark-colored jeans and white tennis shoes.
The second suspect was described as 6-feet, 1 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a blue hoodie, dark jeans and white tennis shoes. The man was possibly armed with a black pistol.
The report states that police spoke with two employees who gave them the following account of the robbery.
The first employee told officers that she saw the men come into the store through the front door and approach the customer service counter. The firs suspect jumped over the counter and approached her. The man asked her “where’s the f—— money?” Then told her “not to move.” The employee told police that she stood against the wall as the suspect reached into the change drawer and took out money. The report states that the employee told police that the suspect then went over to the safe and began removing money from cash drawers inside, while the second suspect stood outside the counter with his hands down in front of him.
The woman told officers that while one suspect was removing money from the safe, the second suspect appeared at the counter with the store manager. After about a minute, the first suspect left the customer service area with his partner and they ran out the front door.
The report states that the store manager told officers that the second suspect grabbed her by the wrist and told her to “shut (her) mouth and follow him.” The store manager said the second suspect directed her to open the service desk door. She said that as she opened the door, the first suspect ran toward her and said, “get the f— out of my way.”
The report states that police reviewed surveillance video which shows a white mid-2000s model Chevy Impala with black molding along the sides turn into the Bi-Lo just before 11 p.m. The suspects are seen getting out of the car and entering the store. The report states that the video shows the second suspect possibly carrying a black pistol while inside the store.
